Richard Lewis

CEO

Richard has worked in the theatre industry for over 45 years.

After training as a teacher, he co-founded Compass Theatre Company in 1980, and since then has worked as an actor, director, writer, and producer In the UK, US, Australia, and France.

For 3 years (1991/94) was General Manager for Bill Kenwright Ltd. Subsequently forming Richard Lewis Productions Ltd in 1995, which produced his first show, Master Forger.

He is also the founder of Limelight Entertainment Ltd, a production and merchandise company based in London and of which he has been Managing Director for 27 years. As Chairman of AKA in 2001 he was instrumental in growing the company to what it is today – the second largest theatre marketing agency in the world.

Alongside his role as MD of Limelight, he is currently CEO of Fierylight, one of the premiere theatre companies in the UK producing branded entertainment for pre-school and young children. He is also a member of Merlin Entertainments ‘Concept Lab’, researching and developing live experiences for the Merlin Group. Richard sits on the Board of GMGP, a producing and promoting consortium based in Manila and producing through the Asia Pacific. Recent productions include National Theatre’s, ‘Matilda’, ‘We Will Rock You’ and, this Autumn, GMGP will present an already sold out ‘Hamilton’ in Manila.

He continues to work as a writer and director, and has written seven Peppa Pig live shows, Teletubbies, Octonauts, Ben and Holly‘s Little Kingdom, and many more children shows produced both in the UK and internationally.

He recently wrote Dino Ranch which he will also direct when it opens in the US in 2025 and is looking forward to directing Peppa Pig’s Fun Day out this Autumn, prior to its yearlong 2024 tour.

Richard is currently working on Fierylight’s 5-year plan, which will see a raft of exciting experiences for children being brought into the live space over the next two years.
