Production Assistant

Job Description

Fierylight, a London based production company who specialise in creating quality commercial work for young audiences, is currently seeking a Production Assistant to support the Producers and Commercial Director across all Fierylight projects. We are looking to recruit a highly organised and enthusiastic Production Assistant with a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diary management- setting up calls and meetings.
  • Correspondence- responding to invitations etc.
  • Hospitality- arranging company meals, first night gifts.
  • Travel- organising travel for the production team, cast etc as appropriate including international travel.
  • Providing administrative support for Productions, e.g. arranging, attending and minuting meetings, inputting and maintaining departmental, building and show budgets, formatting, printing and sending out scripts etc.
  • Liaising with incoming and external companies regarding productions, compiling technical specifications, plans, health and safety information and other miscellaneous details as required.
  • Checking tour venue deal memos.
  • Supporting casting requirements including availability checks and the administration of auditions: providing scripts, arranging room hires and catering and attending where appropriate.
  • Collating information on technical recharges, communicating them to the Finance Team for inclusion in settlements.
  • Managing and maintaining the archiving of show documentation on Dropbox.
  • Assisting with planning and running of PR and marketing events including press performances.
  • Obtaining programme biographies and photos from creative team and cast members.
  • Handling petty cash.
  • Tracking sales figures.
  • Updating social media channels & website.
  • Checking show websites & briefing marketing agencies of relevant updates.
  • Checking ticket agent websites for visibility & up to date copy & images.
  • Liaising with graphic designers on resizing & supplying artwork for ticket agents/internal use/tour venues.
  • Proofing marketing materials including regional season brochures.
  • Setting up ticketing allocations & managing day to day for relevant shows.
  • Uploading assets to licensee approval systems.

The ideal applicant will:

  • Have excellent communication and team-working skills to deal with people at all levels both in the company and externally within the theatre community.
  • An enthusiasm to learn.
  • Be able to organise and prioritise numerous tasks.
  • Retain a calm and patient approach and be resourceful and proactive in dealing with problems and queries.
  • Have good IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn quickly and preferably have some previous experience in theatre administration.
  • Be able to work on their own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for theatre and the arts industry.

Other Details

Location of work: Flexible working between Soho office and home working to be agreed with HoD, with a minimum of 3 days a week in London.
